lyrics

This darkness is what we have become,
These shadows, we can't outrun.
This darkness.

There’s shadows creeping inside your mind,
A darkness which extends and confides.
They whisper a truth that you want to believe.
You won’t listen to a word they speak.

Don’t get too close, it's too dark inside,
This is the place where demons thrive,
Self-loathing is your disease.
No one will listen to your useless pleas.

This darkness is what we’ve become.
These shadows haunting us, we can't outrun.
This darkness is what we've become.
Helplessly to our demons, we succumb.

Speaking in tongues, they mutter their lies,
My true self, from them I can't disguise.
Crushed by this constant lie,
It won't subside.

We try to move on, we try to forget.
Overwhelmed and beset by regret.
Disillusioned from the grips of reality.
There’s nothing left.
Bury it deep, walk away from it all.
The bigger it gets, the harder the fall.
Betrayed by what we chose to believe.
Fulfilling our own prophecy.

This darkness is what we’ve become.
